The Intracept Procedure
The Intracept Procedure preserves the overall structure of the spine. It is performed as a same-day outpatient procedure under anesthesia, typically lasting about one hour. The procedure has received FDA clearance. The majority of patients experience significant improvements in function and pain 3 months post-procedure that is sustained more than 5 years after a single treatment.Candidates must have chronic low back pain lasting at least six months, completion of conservative care for a minimum of six months, and MRI findings showing Modic changes indicating vertebral endplate damage with resulting inflammation.
After Your Procedure
The Intracept Procedure is performed as a same-day outpatient procedure, and most patients return home shortly after. Some soreness at the treatment site is normal in the days following. The majority of patients experience significant improvements in function and pain reduction within 3 months of the procedure. These results have been shown to be sustained for more than 5 years after a single treatment.Your physician will provide specific recovery guidelines and schedule follow-up appointments to track your progress. Because the procedure preserves spinal structure, most patients resume normal activities relatively quickly.
